Brazilian-based company is noted for using AI to help industries become more competitive, profitable and efficient
LANSING, Mich. — (February 19, 2025)—Ubivis, a Brazilian-based company that utilizes artificial intelligence to help industries become more competitive, profitable, and efficient in their processes, today announced its expansion into the U.S. market, thanks to support from the Lansing Economic Area Partnership (LEAP) and the Lansing Regional SmartZone (LRSZ).
“The Lansing area has everything we need to grow my business and maximize our chances for success,” said Paulo Henrique G. Souza, founder and CEO of Ubivis. “I want to thank LEAP, the LRSZ, Michigan State University, and everyone else who has been so eager and willing to support the growth of this technology in the U.S.”
“Today’s announcement shows that the Lansing Region is growing as a landing place for international companies looking to expand their businesses,” said Bob Trezise, president and CEO of LEAP. “Ubivis picked the Lansing region because of its economic opportunities, its high-quality workforce, and the demonstrated track record that organizations like LEAP and LRSZ have in helping foreign companies thrive. We’re thrilled to welcome them to our community.”
Ubivis is dedicated to creating advanced solutions in technology that support traditional manufacturers to better utilize their equipment as well as developing software that uses machine learning and artificial intelligence solutions to operate machinery autonomously. Ubivis’ clients include Shell, Gerdau, Nissan, Volkswagen, and Toyota.
“Ubivis is exactly the kind of company we want to bring to the Lansing region,” said Harrison Leffel-Jones, VP of Small Business & innovation at LEAP, who worked to recruit Ubivis to the Lansing region. “They’re not only helping manufactures stay relevant in 2025—they’re rocketing them to the next level. Their decision to grow in the Lansing Region is due to our depth of manufactures, industrial heritage, access to talent, and connections across Michigan and the Midwest.”
Ubivis is a resident at the East Lansing Technology Innovation Center (TIC), a business incubator that provides a collaborative workspace, programmatic support, and vital resources for technology startups in the Lansing Region.
“We are excited to welcome Ubivis to the Lansing Region and to support the headquarters of their North American operations,” said Jeff Smith, Director of Research Parks for the MSU Research Foundation, which runs the TIC. “We’re happy to support their early stages here at the Technology Innovation Center, but we’re truly looking forward to watching their footprint and investment grow in Michigan.”
Ubivis received financial support from the Lansing Regional SmartZone, which stimulates the growth of technology-based businesses in the Lansing region by funding local partners to deliver exceptional entrepreneurial support services. LEAP is also proud to partner with regional partners such as the Capital Area Manufacturing Council (CAMC) which is supporting Ubivis to get integrated with our local economy of manufacturers.
“The Capital Area Manufacturing Council is proud to support the growth of Ubivis,” said Cindy Kangas, director of CAMC. “Through our dynamic partnership model, Ubivis will have access to networking opportunities, technical services, business development support, and much more.”
Ubivis’ products include an automated Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) platform which synthesizes data from different sources such as mobile, desktop, sensors, electrical panels, PIMs, and PLCs into one cohesive view. Additionally, they offer a revolutionary Digital Twin for machinery that allows for the completely autonomous operations of manufacturing equipment. With their solution it is possible to autonomously operate the production and safety setup.
