The partnership aims to showcase Lansing’s growing tech sector and the many professional opportunities in the region
EAST LANSING, Mich.—(Nov. 28, 2023)— The Lansing Regional SmartZone, a driving force in cultivating innovation, supporting entrepreneurial growth, and fostering economic development, has partnered with Lansing 5:01 for this year’s Capital City Comeback.
“The Greater Lansing region is full of opportunities for growth and success,” said Lansing Regional SmartZone Executive Director Harrison Leffel-Jones. “Through this partnership, we are taking significant steps toward showcasing these opportunities and revitalizing the Greater Lansing tech ecosystem and workforce.”
The Capital City Comeback, held annually the week of Thanksgiving as a homecoming event for the region,showcased the multitude of job opportunities and career prospects available in the Greater Lansing region. Attendees at the Nov. 22 event, held at the MSUFCU Abbot Road Branch in downtown East Lansing, had an opportunity to connect with local startups and established tech companies, explore job openings and gain insights into the vibrant tech community.
The Lansing area is home to prestigious national headquarters, a top global university, innovative local business and supportive community organizations. The region is also known for its vibrant nightlife, entertainment, and the arts, as residents enjoy the world-renowned Eli and Edythe Broad Art Museum, performances at the Wharton Center for Performing Arts, collegiate and professional athletics, and the natural beauty of the region.
“The Capital Comeback is a testament to the region’s commitment to fostering innovation and economic growth in the Greater Lansing region,” said Lansing 5:01 Executive Director Chris Sell. “We are dedicated to creating a thriving tech corridor that will not only support local startups, but also attract talent from across the nation.
