DESCRIPTION:This virtual event is free\, but registration is required: https://events.teams.microsoft.com/event/3493eafb-a57a-40b9-8832-2fe35ddcbf3b@253e7787-672d-4071-9290-fc3db5246db7 \nGovernment contracts are potentially a tremendous financial opportunity for small businesses. The U.S. government is the largest customer in the world. It buys all types of products and services – in both large and small quantities – and it’s required by law to consider buying from small businesses. Join the APEX Accelerator’s office to learn about assessment tools you can use to evaluate your company’s readiness to enter the government marketplace. \nEast Michigan APEX Accelerator is funded in part through a cooperative agreement with the Department of Defense (DOD)\, and in part by the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (

SUMMARY:Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) Accounting System Requirements
DESCRIPTION:Tuesday\, October 7\, 2025 \n9:00 am -10:00 am \nRegister \n \n \nJoin Macomb Regional APEX Accelerator along with subject matter expert Katelyn Rigle\, Operations Audit Liaison Small Business Coordinator from the Defense Contract Audit Agency for a presentation on Accounting Systems Requirements. \nPrior to being awarded a cost reimbursable contract\, federal government contractors need to ensure their accounting system is adequate for accumulating costs applicable to federal contracts. This is accomplished when DCAA conducts a Preaward Accounting System Audit at the request of a federal agency. Join DCAA as we discuss the federal regulations that define an acceptable accounting system\, evaluate the minimum requirements of the SF 1408 criteria\, and how small businesses can prepare for this type of audit. Together\, we will differentiate between direct versus indirect costs\, define total contract costs\, provide an overview of indirect allocation bases\, and learn how FAR Part 31 clauses describe allowability\, allocability\, and reasonableness. \nTake-Away Tuesdays are designed to deliver high-value content\, in short order\, with plenty of substance\, as well as an opportunity to ask the SME! \nTHIS TRAINING WILL BE DELIVERED IN WEBINAR FORMAT. \nThere are no fees to attend\, however registration is required.
